Suitable only for 15 years and over
No one younger than 15 may see a ‘15’ film in a cinema. No one younger than 15 may rent or buy a ‘15’ rated video work.
Discrimination
The work as a whole must not endorse discriminatory language or behaviour.
- my piece of film does not
- my piece of film does not
Drugs
Drug taking may be shown but the film as a whole must not promote or encourage drug misuse. The misuse of easily accessible and highly dangerous substances (for example, aerosols or solvents) is unlikely to be acceptable.
Horror
Strong threat and menace are permitted unless sadistic or sexualised.
Imitable behaviour
Dangerous behaviour (for example, hanging, suicide and self-harming) should not dwell on detail which could be copied. Easily accessible weapons should not be glamorised.
Language
There may be frequent use of strong language (for example, ‘fuck’). The strongest terms (for example, ‘cunt’) may be acceptable if justified by the context. Aggressive or repeated use of the strongest language is unlikely to be acceptable.
Nudity
Nudity may be allowed in a sexual context but without strong detail. There are no constraints on nudity in a non-sexual or educational context.
Sex
Sexual activity may be portrayed without strong detail. There may be strong verbal references to sexual behaviour, but the strongest references are unlikely to be acceptable unless justified by context. Works whose primary purpose is sexual arousal or stimulation are unlikely to be acceptable.
Theme
No theme is prohibited, provided the treatment is appropriate for 15 year olds.
Violence
Violence may be strong but should not dwell on the infliction of pain or injury. The strongest gory images are unlikely to be acceptable. Strong sadistic or sexualised violence is also unlikely to be acceptable. There may be detailed verbal references to sexual violence but any portrayal of sexual violence must be discreet and have a strong contextual justification.
My ANALYSIS!!!!
My ANALYSIS!!!!
My film is most likely going to upset some children because of the mild violence and nudity so it cannot feature as a U rated movie – it would also upset the parents of those children to be exposed to accounts unrelated to their age group. The morality of the film is lacking for it exhibits a framework offering disobedience towards parents, use of censored language and acts of sexual content between teenagers. These elements and more surely to be exposed within my film will undoubtedly ensure that the film will not offer assurances of any obscenities during viewing hence why it cannot be identified as a PG film either.
My Psychological thriller may be relentless in its course to thrill and beguile the audience. Its use of the physical and psychological threats will be strong in representation and meaning and will be sustained frequently throughout the film emphasising the importance of these characteristics to construct my thriller movie.
There is high possibility of dangerous behaviour such as acts to harm another with weapons e.g. a knife. The intent will be obviously conveyed but the literal act shall not be dwelled upon – keeping imitable behaviour at a subsequent minimum.
Strong language will be used e.g. ‘’fuck’’ but not frequently but on occasions fitting to the scene and moods of the character – also to indicate the state & type of character and somewhat convey the indication of teenagers in present day times through my observations of media and how they are represented in other films.
Nudity may be revealed in context of sexual acts or behaviour constituting exposure of self to convey a point/ grasp attention, strong details of these body parts may be needed there by establishing the length of constraint on the nude exposure.
Making the acts of sexual activity being represented suitable to a strong reference but still limiting the presentation of detailed sexual actions bent in content with getting the sexual scene as any other that a passing frame of work within the film rather than key – will show mature themes acceptable for teens age 15+.
The violent scenes within the film will be strong throughout – deeming the psychologically disturbed individual’s protagonist semblance. She will exhibit moments of madness which consents to the violence. However, the violence will not show too much gore and mark it at a minimum, promising menace and malice – whilst portraying intent without showing the cruel behaviour.
The content of my film is not aimed at showing too much but shows enough that it renders it unethically suitable to display it to children/younger teens under the age of 15 and it isn’t explicit enough to be defined as an 18.
