Problems Problems Problems
The editing process has become stressful for me in terms of the sound effects and the music. Through the filming process I discovered that my sound effects will always have background interference and this is seen as problematic. The editing won't allow me allow me to resolve this problem as I have tried to mute the unwanted assortments. However, it has given me an opportunity to experiment with lighting and transitions suitable to convey the thriller genre and create the appropriate scene.

Final filming day
The final process of filming was the hardest because we had to work out of our comfort zone. Filming outside is harder because of all the different aspects we had to contend with. That included the various people in the park passing through the main gates were we were filming. Also the distractions of the traffic casually honking at us as we were filming. This caused the short delay because we were filming against sunset. However, we managed to get the shots in on time.
After the outside filming we went to shoot our film inside the house. Now problems we encountered here involved the usage of space to move around with the camera whilst inside the bedroom. This meant we had to move everything unnecessary to the scene out of the room to create more space. This in turn, improved filming fundamentally because we were able to move around as we pleased and left less room for error.
Lubaina, had to play the role of the victim in bed being night stalked by a stranger who is was in actuality her long lost sister. She had to be filmed while she was fast asleep. This posed difficult for her however. Because she felt the presence of the production crew and could hear my direction she couldn’t hold her composure and this led to many outtakes. It also however, almost led her to such frustration at being unable to follow through completely that she threatened to resign from her role. At this point I felt a well-deserved break will soothe the hostile atmosphere ere and allow people to think through their actions and reconsider on what to do in concern with continuation with filming.
As she had calmed down she asked if only the camerawoman and I as the director could stay in the room as we filmed and I accepted her request as reasonable and we were able to film the scene smoothly. After that scene she became more confident and open to go at it with more staff in the room to help with holding equipment, guiding the tripod and re-adjusting the scene as it gets jostled during filming.
When we needed to film the stalker scenes we found that we had fallen into a swift pace. Filming had become easier and everyone was responding to each other flexibly. When calling out shots be it mid shot or long shot or movements be they tracking or tilts the crew had learnt and adapted to the terminology which made my life far easier. The stalker mostly had to offer still shots to begin with and they towards the end the in interaction of both characters commenced in filming.
At first, Lubaina fell prey to her previous tendencies to giggle or fall out of character but with my adamant insistence on the importance of her character and her role she settled and was able to correspond simultaneously well with her sister Sabrina in the brief moment they first converge in a scene. The brief shot will be a fundamental scene in the opening as it is a key to indicating the relationship between the two individuals. After said interaction the had to be fluid with the next so we had to define the positions in which each character left so we could replicate that in the next scene. Timing at this point was becoming disorientated because of the unexpected lengthy feel to each scene.
Hopefully when I reach the editing process (which precedes this) begins I’ll be able to cut scenes short to accommodate the 2 minute rule that’s been implicated in jurisdiction with this filming process. In contingency to my timetable I should be done with filming very shortly, in hopes that the clips aren’t too out of place with each other.
As comparison banter I kept the bloopers from filming so I can use them in contrast to my final piece of work to assist my analysis of my film work and editing differences. This will hopefully be a kept evidential piece of work to render my coursework with its point, evidence and finally analysis.
